Stage three of the dream: you probably know where this is going. Breath of the Wild, on PC, at both a higher resolution and a higher framerate than it can manage on its original hardware.
The Wii U and Switch may be locked to 30 frames per second, but in the land of 60 fps, that was never going to last. And it looks like we've now taken a big step towards stage three, as a modder has done the preliminary work to make Breath of the Wild run at 60 fps on PC. The work comes from Cemu emulator community member Xalphenos, whose post in the Cemu Discord channel was copied over into its own Reddit thread.
The good news is that a fairly simple hack appears to bypass Breath of the Wild's 30 fps lock without causing any messy conflicts. The bad news is that this isn't a magical elixir that improves the game's performance, and the Cemu emulator and Zelda are currently so demanding, no system can really run BotW at a full 60 fps. To be clear, the hack doesn't only apply to shrines, but those areas tend to perform much better than Zelda's overworld, which is vastly more complex.
The post continues:. What about 30 out doors? It may turn out to be completely simple or completely complicated. There are actually a few people who have reported getting 60 in the open world with skip fence on. User epigramx, who posted the hack on Reddit, adds that "Ironically the modification is already complete for a future system that would maintain 60FPS always but nobody can do that in practice yet The 60FPS version of the hack is not as practical for current systems, or it's not a 'use and forget' thing.
However, since our CPUs are not fast enough to reach 60FPS in the open, we can't use the hack as it is and forget about it, so in practice it will have to be disabled for the outdoors. Epigramx predicts that a couple CPU generations down the line we could see CPUs capable of consistent 60 fps performance.
There's also the possibility that updates to Cemu could bring 60 fps within reach for current hardware, as the emulator becomes more efficient. In the meantime, it seems likely this is just the beginning for the 60 fps hack. As epigramx mentions, the next logical step is to make it change the frame cap dynamically when entering shrines, or make it an in-game toggle, from 30 to 60, to keep performance smooth in the overworld and in shrines.
You can follow along with the hack's updates from the Reddit thread here.

So i was wondering since i just made this account is it possible for me and Dan to both edit the posts?
Also did we meet the requirements to be put in to the Hd texture projects forum? Nice work! I'll give it a proper look when I get off of work.
This reminds me of Skyrim for some reason ;p.Back when Twilight Princess was originally announced, it was slated as a GameCube-exclusive title.
But due to numerous delays, the release of the game butted-up against the release of the Wii. It was converted into a cross-gen release with the focus shifted to the new console.Zelda: Twilight Princess - GC - Wii - Wii U - Cemu - 4K Graphics Comparison - Comparativa
The Wii version benefited from support and wide distribution, but the tacked-on motion controls and horizontally flipped display were sore spots for Zelda fans. Meanwhile, the limited GameCube release was constrained tobut it used a traditional control scheme, and allowed Link retain his preference for left-handed sword fighting.
With Twilight Princess HDNintendo is finally giving us all of the good bits with few of the original limitations to ruin our fun. The game runs in a proper aspect ratio with drastically improved textures and better lighting effects.
Motion controls are nowhere to be found, and the original left-handed orientation has returned for the default gameplay mode. The folks over at Digital Foundry have been given an early copy of the game, and everything looks solid from a technical perspective.
The graphical upgrades are nice, but numerous gameplay changes are being made as well. These changes are small, but they add up to a more streamlined experience that makes for much less frustration.
Similarly, Wind Waker HD cut out much of the mindless collecting, and sped-up the sailing process. It may disappoint purists, but this is a big win for the average player. Unsurprisingly, Nintendo is using this nostalgic re-release as a way to convince you to buy some toys. This site may earn affiliate commissions from the links on this page.
Greywolf39, that is true. So yeah, you won't get a wii u experience, you will get an even better one. Wrong again tinkerbell It's called software feat of strength that they have made this even possible. I have a Wii U but I enjoy the games off the emulator way more when playing them x hz or 4K. Use Dolphin emulator for skyward sword, it looks good at higher resolutions. That's false unless you're ripping your own games yourself and even then. It isn't promoting piracy.
It is promoting playing the games we bought in the best format possible. Read a EULA and see if it's legal. Doubt me? Call Nintendo, give them your name and address and tell them how much you enjoy doing this.
Let's see how well that works out for you smart guy. Athos Nintendo aren't legislators. Emulators are not illegal. If there is anything that could be illegal are the roms that you download from the internet. The story is too old to be commented. Agree 18 Disagree 1.Login Register. This is really awesome! Simple yet ingenious idea with making the sound play at halfspeed so it'll play at normal speed at Hm, also I seem to be missing something for SMS. I enabled the VBeam hack and put in the first patch. Now everything seems to run at double speed, though.
Framelimiter doesn't seem to help. Intel ik Devil's Canyon 3. HeyAlucard Member. I'm curious if the zelda games will be able to get the patch to work also. CPU: i7 k 4. Remember: Each patch is individually made. If you want a game you play to run at 60 FPS, the best way to get the ball rolling is to start digging around in it. IceStrike Emulation Archivist. Sooo, anyone else got this working correctly? Did you remember to enable it? Did you enable cheats?
I can't think of anything else. Yeah, I enabled cheats. However, I didn't select any cheat. Which one would that be? Under AR Codes, I don't find anything that would have anything to do with speed or something. You need to add the patch under the patches tab. And enable it. That's what cuts the speed in half.

Find Reply. This new version features better audio support, and below you can find videos showing Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario Bros U running at 60fps. Emulating games that are new and still on sale is pretty pathetic really.
Might as well put up an article about cracked games. I prefer new games at rrp on their native platform.
WheatBread Well said. These guys hate the bad news articles, yet they're the first ones here LOL. And the fact that they're making profit off of this through Patreon should make this illegal, if they're planning on releasing it to the public.
CEMU 1.11.3 - Here are Bayonetta 2, Pokken Tournament, Zelda and more running with 60fps
Damned pirates need to back the F off; current gen consoles shouldn't be emulated. Exactly, all I can see is shameless theft. But its ok cus their PC's are uber powerful.
I'm quite proud of my tall blue stack of WiiU games all paid in full to support the devs that made them.
I didn't even know they were making profit, that really is outrageous! I love my Wii U collection as well. Why should anyone buy Wii U games right now in the event they just get remasters for the NX for anyone that wants an NX?
If you're not willing to buy the games legit, you don't deserve to play them at all. The same goes for anyone that thinks PS4 and XBone emulators would be a good idea. They're not. And anyone willing to use them should be ashamed of themselves for doing so; there's no guarantee that any game on any system will ever see a remaster on a future one, and using that as an excuse to steal the game code doesn't count as a solid reason.
This is coming along VERY nicely. Congrats to the dev team for their hard work. They're arse holes for creating an emulator?
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
Umm no lol. Stop it. This was inevitable. People are acting as if this was never going to happen. This is exactly the same situation as when Dolphin was created. I'm not sure why this news upsets so many people. Either way this emulator is going to be the best one yet whether the haters want to admit it or not. Just, because it can be used for piracy doesn't mean that'll be its sole use. Can't wait to turn my Wii U into a dedicated ripping machine and just play my games on my PC.

Hope I'll be able to convert eShop titles to something Cemu can read so all my digital purchases can be transferred to my PC since we can just download game updates in.
