We spent about 40 hours researching and assembling 13 balance bikes, and subjected them to a cadre of highly energetic 2- to 8-year-olds. The Strider 12 Sport is strong, lightweight, a cinch to assemble, and the most adjustable option for kids age 18 months to 5 years.
The Strider 12 Sport Balance Bike hides prodigious design beneath a veneer of simplicity. It is the most popular balance bike on the market, and we understand why: easy assembly, a wide range of size adjustability, light weight 6. Of all of the bikes here, its design feels the most, well, mini-me-friendly with kid-narrow handlebars and toddler-size grips.
Its seat post has the widest height adjustability range of any bike we tested 9 inches! Its simple design includes an ultra-light, maintenance-free nylon bushing headset the pivot point that lets the handlebar turnvery lightweight plastic wheels, pleasantly grippy foam rubber tires that never need inflating, and footrests, which is a nice feature when a kid starts to try tricks like bunny hops, or just want to rest their feet on a gradual downhill.Woom 4 20 Inch Kids Bike Review
We also liked the full-length handlebar pad, for when bunny hops go awry. The 12 Sport comes brake-free, but Strider offers an add-on foot brake for hilly terrain. This aluminum-framed balance bike costs more than our top pick and is less adjustable, but it comes with shock-absorbing and indoor-friendly rubber air-filled tires.
While its air tires, alloy wheels, and standard ball-bearing headset make it, at 9 pounds, heavier than the Strider Sport, the REV 12 also features thoughtful kid-specific design elements like a low top tube same as the Strider 12 Sport at 8 inches and a seat height that is adjustable by 5 inches, which while still good is 4 inches fewer than the Strider.
The slightly spendier Co-op lacks some size adjustability compared with the Strider 12 Sport, particularly at the handlebars, but some of our testers preferred the stability of slightly wider handlebars and the speed they could generate with its fat, rubber tires.
The REV 12 also gets high marks for a really easy assembly. While the steel-framed Banana Bike LT V2 offers what we consider two of the most important features for beginning kids—low stand-over height and light weight—at a very affordable price, it took longer than 45 minutes to get it truly dialed out of the box. But, the frame is well-engineered, and the range of height adjustability for the handlebars is substantial and adequate for the seat about 3 inches.
I needed to loosen its wheels with a pair of wrenches which is a bummer, as the bike comes with only one wrench because their spin was slow, while its bike-standard ball bearing headset arrived over-tightened, making turns of the handlebar notchy. The bike is nonetheless handsome and it performs well—once mom or dad or a local bike shop gets it good to roll.
The Strider 14x Sport represents a tiny segment of balance bikes that can be outfitted with a sprocket assembly that quickly converts them into solid, no-compromises pedal bikes. While we loved both the Strider 14x Sport and its nearest competition, the LittleBig 3-in-1 currently not shipping to the USthe Strider is lower in price and has a wider range of size adjustability.
Geometry-wise, the 14x, which has inch wheels unlike the rest of the balance bikes we tested, which had inch wheelsthe Sport is meant for kids in their mid to high 3s up to age 7.
Pair all that with a handlebar stem that can be raised nearly 4 inches, and you have an incredibly versatile bike, size-wise. We spent more than 15 hours researching, and more than 20 hours assembling, dissecting, and testing 13 balance bikes. Six years ago, when my son was 2 and way too excited to ride his too-big pedal bike, I fashioned it into a balance bike by unscrewing the pedals and duct-taping the seat to the top tube.
For this guide, I interviewed John Bradley, until recently the editor in chief of VeloNews magazine and a former editor at Outside magazine. Bradley has a son named Max who had recently, at the time, graduated from a Strider balance bike to a inch Islabikes Cnoc pedal bike.
Bradley is fanatical about riding with Max and observing his young cycling habits with the eye of a scientist. I also spoke to Toby Hill, who was then the managing editor at Bicycle Retailer magazine, to get an idea of where the kids bike market was headed—and got additional wisdom on the topic from Marissa Guyduy, a spokesperson with the NPD Group, a consumer research organization, and Katie Bruce, then the director of marketing and communications for the National Sporting Goods Association.
After determining that at least one Strider bike would be a final pick, I also spent an hour on the phone with Strider inventor Ryan McFarland.
A properly fitted balance bike can enable children to balance on two wheels with astonishing speed even as young as 18 months and is a fun first step toward learning to ride a bike. Our experts advise that learning to ride a bike has changed over the years no more training wheels and balance biking is the first step.
Once they can balance, they learn to use a hand brake and, finally, learn to pedal, skipping training wheels altogether. Many kids need a little encouragement and flat, paved terrain to get into balance biking. Several parents told me that even if their kids have a balance bike, they simply don't use it.
They are far more likely to opt for scooters or tricycles. The woom 4 introduces children aged six years to the world of gear-shifting. The bike's eight speeds in combination with the easy-to-operate twist shifter expand the bike's range of use and increase the child's mobility. Whether they want to ride their bikes into the woods or up hills — the new-found freedom of gears make longer adventures on two wheels child's play.
Learning to operate a rear brake as early as possible makes it easier later on to use brakes on a pedal bike and can prevent accidents. Our specially designed brake lever is easy to pull with small hands and requires little strength to bring the bike to a safe halt.
This, combined with the ergonomically designed grips, make the process of stopping child's play. The superlight aluminium frame is the heart of the balance bike and ensures a fun and safe riding experience.
Its geometry has been specifically designed for toddlers, with a low entry making it easy for even the youngest of riders to hop on and roll away. Thanks to the long seatpost and open seat tube the bike can be adjusted for a long time to fit your child as it grows.
The saddle is one of the most important points of contact between the child and the bike. It significantly affects the feeling when riding. That is why we have designed our saddle to fit the pelvis of young children and give them an upright riding position. These qualities make our saddle ideal for riding in all positions: standing, running or sitting.
The woom steering limiter is an important safety feature developed by us. It prevents the handlebars from overturning, helps children ride straight and therefore reduces the risk of accidents.
Our stem is the safe and lightweight connection between the handlebars and the headset. Tyres have a major influence on how a bike rides.
That is why for the woom 1 we have chosen high-quality, lightweight and grippy tyres with low rolling resistance. This ensures that children roll smoothly along while maintaining good grip whatever the terrain — tarmac, gravel or dirt.
The reflective stripe on the side of the tyres ensures good visibility even in low-light conditions. To roll smoothly and quickly, a balance bike needs good wheels.
And that is exactly what we have given our bikes. Color: sky blue. An error occurred on add to cart. Refresh and try again, otherwise please contact our support team. Available for pre-order. Apply the same concept to your reviews. Thank your customers directly on each platform where people are leaving feedback. Thanking reviewers can also improve your SEO. Notice the first words in this reply. Thanking your customers will make them feel good. Ultimately, it establishes a more personal connection between you and the customer. The manager went as far as saying that he commended the waitress for a job well done.

Your employees need to understand this. These reviews are just as important to your staff as they are to you. If negative reviews hurt your business, it could put your employees out of a job.
Engaged employees work harder. You can display these results on your website or social media platforms as well. How can you do this. The example above even tells the customer how long it will take them to complete the review. You can design surveys that are shorter as well.
I like them because they are simple to use. Surveys are a great way to get customer feedback in general. Using surveys to generate social proof is an added bonus. Yelp allows customers to include their name and a photograph for their profile.
The reviewer, Chelsea, has a photo to validate who she is. Her picture even shows her eating food at a restaurant. Images like this resonate more with consumers. They can also see that Chelsea has made over 300 reviews on Yelp. People are using their full names and profile pictures to back up their statements.
Images like that will have a negative effect on their credibility. Reviews that tell a story can have the same impact. So, how do you get customers to tell a story. Bonnie reviewed a local pizzeria in Seattle. It was a personal story about her specific experience. Why was she there. What type of music was playing. Lots of Bob Marley. For example, the distribution could be bimodal (have 2 peaks). This might suggest that the sample is not homogeneous but possibly its elements came from two different populations, each more or less normally distributed.
In such cases, in order to understand the nature of the variable in question, you should look for a way to quantitatively identify the two sub-samples. To index Purpose (What is Correlation.
The Best Balance Bike
The measurement scales used should be at least interval scales, but other correlation coefficients are available to handle other types of data. Correlation coefficients can range from -1. The value of -1. A value of 0. The most widely-used type of correlation coefficient is Pearson r, also called linear or product- moment correlation. Simple Linear Correlation (Pearson r).
Pearson correlation (hereafter called correlation), assumes that the two variables are measured on at least interval scales (see Elementary Concepts), and it determines the extent to which values of the two variables are "proportional" to each other. The value of correlation (i. This line is called the regression line or least squares line, because it is determined such that the sum of the squared distances of all the data points from the line is the lowest possible. How to Interpret the Values of Correlations.
As mentioned before, the correlation coefficient (r) represents the linear relationship between two variables. If the correlation coefficient is squared, then the resulting value (r2, the coefficient of determination) will represent the proportion of common variation in the two variables (i.
In order to evaluate the correlation between variables, it is important to know this "magnitude" or "strength" as well as the significance of the correlation. The significance level calculated for each correlation is a primary source of information about the reliability of the correlation.
As explained before (see Elementary Concepts), the significance of a correlation coefficient of a particular magnitude will change depending on the size of the sample from which it was computed. The test of significance is based on the assumption that the distribution of the residual values (i.
However, Monte Carlo studies suggest that meeting those assumptions closely is not absolutely crucial if your sample size is not very small and when the departure from normality is not very large. It is impossible to formulate precise recommendations based on those Monte- Carlo results, but many researchers follow a rule of thumb that if your sample size is 50 or more then serious biases are unlikely, and if your sample size is over 100 then you should not be concerned at all with the normality assumptions.
Outliers are atypical (by definition), infrequent observations. Because of the way in which the regression line is determined (especially the fact that it is based on minimizing not the sum of simple distances but the sum of squares of distances of data points from the line), outliers have a profound influence on the slope of the regression line and consequently on the value of the correlation coefficient.
A single outlier is capable of considerably changing the slope of the regression line and, consequently, the value of the correlation, as demonstrated in the following example. Note, that as shown on that illustration, just one outlier can be entirely responsible for a high value of the correlation that otherwise (without the outlier) would be close to zero. Needless to say, one should never base important conclusions on the value of the correlation coefficient alone (i.
Note that if the sample size is relatively small, then including or excluding specific data points that are not as clearly "outliers" as the one shown in the previous example may have a profound influence on the regression line (and the correlation coefficient).
Typically, we believe that outliers represent a random error that we would like to be able to control.
Unfortunately, there is no widely accepted method to remove outliers automatically (however, see the next paragraph), thus what we are left with is to identify any outliers by examining a scatterplot of each important correlation. Needless to say, outliers may not only artificially increase the value of a correlation coefficient, but they can also decrease the value of a "legitimate" correlation. See also Confidence Ellipse. Quantitative Approach to Outliers. Some researchers use quantitative methods to exclude outliers.
In some areas of research, such "cleaning" of the data is absolutely necessary. For example, in cognitive psychology research on reaction times, even if almost all scores in an experiment are in the range of 300-700 milliseconds, just a few "distracted reactions" of 10-15 seconds will completely change the overall picture. We were exceptionally pleased with our 7-day Express Iceland self-driving tour along the Ring Road.
Nordic Visitor took care of all the details, and we hit no snags whatsoever in the rental car, accommodations, airport transfers, etc. Our Nordic Visitor representative was a master in communication - extremely prompt, helpful, and courteous.
We will definitely be looking into this company again for other Scandinavian trips. It was a fabulous experience and loved everything about Greenland, especially the Ilussiat Ice Fiord and sailing among the icebergs at midnight.
The local people were very friendly and welcoming. The helicopter ride to the Ilulissat glacier was also a highlight and standing on the ice cap by the glacier was an unforgettable experience. The only hotel that we were disappointed with was in Bergen but we only had to mention it to our travel advisor Kolbrun and she immediately addressed the concern and issued us a credit. We also left a pair of glasses at our hotel in Flam. The hotel staff must have contacted Kolbrun to let her know and she had the glasses returned to us, again great customer service.
We have never had hotel staff find and return lost items before and we really felt Kolbrun was watching over us and had our back. Kolbrun was excellent with everything, and assisted us with a train from Gothenburg to Copenhagen. I cannot fault anything with our tour experience. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED BY THE PERSONAL SERVICE AND RAPID RESPONSE TO QUERIES.
I AM BASED IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA AND TO BE DEALING WITH AN AGENCY IN ICELAND WAS QUITE SURREAL. I HAD BETTER SERVICE THAN FROM MY LOCAL TRAVEL AGENT HANDLING THE REST OF MY TOUR. KOLBRUN WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY.
WE CANT WAIT TO COME BACK AND SPEND LONGER RATHER THAN THE EXPRESS TOUR. The travel maps came in very handy. With the maps you could easily find everything. We would definitily recommend Nordic Visitors to our friends and hope we can come back soon. We didn't had to worry about anything. Sofia managed to put in all the fun, without the stress. It was an unforgetteble expirience and we thank Nordic Visiter for this. Our additions were easily accommodated. There is also the Roku Streaming Stick, which got an upgrade last year. Whether you just got a Roku or you've had one for years, there's more to know beyond the basics of a Defenders marathon.
We've put together 21 ways for you to get more out of your streaming device. Because Roku is organized by channel, users have to navigate to each one to see what there is to watch. The Roku app does away with a lot of that work via What's On. Tap the What's On icon at the bottom of the app's screen and you'll find shows and movies organized into categories that can be watched with just a click from the page.
Not all available Roku channels are listed in the Roku Channel Store. To find the "secret" ones, check out the Roku Guide. Clink the link you want, then Add Channel, and you'll be taken to a Roku account page. Log in and add the code for the channel and you're set.
You can control the quality of your Netflix streaming on your Roku, whether you want to see things more clearly or if you need to stay within a data cap. As great as the Roku is, navigating from the remote could use some help. If you don't see a Screen Mirroring option, your Roku device doesn't support it. On Android, screen mirroring is only supported on devices running Android 4. As Roku explains in its FAQ, some Android devices also use different terms for screen mirroring, like Smart View or simply Cast. I thank you at all at Nordic Visitor in particular and all the people of Iceland in general for making my visit so memorable Everything was wonderful. Many of the hotels were modest, but that's what we expected. They were still quite nice and comfortable. The country was beautiful, and we loved how hands-off the tour was.
It was great to have hotels, a car, and airport transport planned for us but to have our days otherwise open. Hotels were excellent in terms of location as well as accommodation. Variety in hotel selections was also a plus.
Where Can I Find a Used woom Bike?
Bjarni provided excellent service. He responded very quickly to our concerns and resolved all issues to our satisfaction. We were impressed with how well everything fitted together. No problems with accommodation or travel, and Cicci was very helpful with the initial booking and in answering queries. Jennie was absolutely TERRIFIC in providing prompt service and information.
A great ASSET to your organization!!. The ability of Scandinavian people to communicate in English greatly enhanced our travel experience in Sweden!. I used to own a tour company myself so am quite confident that the services we received from Nordic Visitor were not only competent but actually went beyond what the promised.
We used NV for an 18-day self-drive around the entire country, including Westfjords. Keeping it short, they provided everything promised and even more. Documentation, driving instructions, optional places to visit and pretty much everything else was spot on. They even provided a cell phone for our unrestricted use (which, because of their planning and execution, was not needed, not even once call). Every encounter with a service provider, basically the rental vehicle and hotels (plus a few optional tours we had them book), went smoothly and cleanly.
Yes, they may have cost us a bit more but it was worth it (and, I'm sure, would have been even more worth it if there had been any problems along the way). What fantastic service this company provides. They customised a tour to meet my requirements. When we arrived they gave us a complete package of information and everything was perfectly arranged. When I first made an enquiry I told them we wanted to photograph waterfalls and they had marked the map of our route with all the waterfalls.
I really recommend them very highly. Helga planned every detail, including making reservations at the most unique lodgings anywhere, arranging our rental car, providing a map with the route and handwritten notations of stops to make along the way. Nordic Visitor also provided a spiral bound notebook with suggested sights to see each day, including optional excursions.
Nordic Visitor provided us with a cell phone (which we used to call Nordic Visitor with questions during our trip), a gas discount card and an anniversary gift as well. If you love the outdoors and exploring, Iceland cannot be beat. And don't forget to call Helga at Nordic Visitor. They will work closely with you to make sure your trip is as memorable as ours. From our pick up at the airport to renting a car, booking hotel rooms and suggesting sites that are not in the guide books, all transitions were seamless.
We had an itinerary that we could use as is or go 'off script' and still experience what Iceland had to offer.
